Home is where the tea is...

...and with a hop, skip and a jump fairy K launches herself into the wonderful world of blogging! Hello everyone! Unfortunately this blog doesn't come live from the railway cottage, but from fairy K's home-from-home, a magical castle filled with books and rabbit holes and walls made of glass. I can tell you that all is well though, fairies J and K are missing the V but she'll be back tomorrow surrounded by adventure stories and memories and chocolate so we can definitely wait until then!

Last night fairy K went to a fantastic gig complete with cowboy hats and dancing on pianos, though she was surrounded by fairies who should never have been told that dancing in public was okay. She flew home on over ground wings to find fairy J and little C snug and comfy in the cottage. Fair play to the lads at the end of the day, true professionals, fantastic. Little C went to bed early as he has many mountains yet to climb. Fairy J fell asleep on the couch after some hardcore chamomile and a lovely solo music session. Fairy K kindly didn't take any photos but was totally thinking about it.

After spending nearly a week in the town where she was born (lived a man who sailed to sea, and he told us of his life, in a yellow submarine), fairy K has started thinking about the problem of the word 'home' and all that it entails. Home can be a lifelong thing. Home can be created in a moment or taken away just as quickly, home can be a person or a place or even an object. Home can be a piano or a couch or a cup or a photograph, or a specific arm around your shoulders. Even on holidays, every fairy says 'let's go home', talking about a hotel room where hundreds of other fairies have slept and woken even in that year.

Being a home bird is another difficult thing to think about. Maybe it can also mean being a bird who just likes homes in general, not just one home or another. Living away from the town where she was born, fairy K has come to realise that she may not in fact be a home bird at all as she always thought, but rather some sort of miniature seagull. After all, it's possible to make a home wherever you find the love and the love finds you. The railway housie trademark brand of love makes a happy home for us and for everyone we love. For fairy K, it's more than that as well.

A famous and fantastic man, famed for his complexity and opacity was once asked what the two most important things in the world were to him. This man simply said 'work and love'. These are what make up fairy K's idea of home. Wherever the work is, wherever the love is, she will follow and that will be her home.

Now, to temper that last bit with a horse of a different colour, fairy K has bought some fairy boots! Very pretty and comfy they are too, for despite loving to jump in puddles and splash splash splash, fairies shouldn't get their feet wet. Ever. It's not good for the magic. So this fairy will be warm and dry all winter, let the puddle jumping and leaf kicking commence!

The railway cottage is calling, so no more for now. The Magdalena's Message Of The Day is being transmitted by fairy magic and is saying: 'Getting lost like a child in the forest is a condition of beginning'. That's good. Fairies like getting lost, it's good for the sparkly eyes and the gossamer wings. Fred The Parrot's Gossip is that pumpkin soup is on the breeze and costumes need to be dreamt up!

The Song Of The Day is

If you sing a song, sing a song for them
If you sing a song, sing the song for them

For the bats and belfry and the fairies on Main Street
For the deadbeat daddies and the Boulevard freaks
For the little girls with the carousel eyes
And the brick-a-brak finding housewives, losing their minds

Sing the song for them, if you sing a song
Sing the song for them
If you sing a song, sing the song for them

To the never-made-its, and the unrecognized
To the alley rats and the tenement flies
To the weekend tweakers, the blond and the blind
To the ex-thrill seekers in the methadone lines

Sing the song for them, if you sing a song, sing the song for them

To who you are, and will never be
To the shaking hand of the maker we’re all going to meet

Sing the song for them
If you sing a song, sing the song for them.

Oh Vienna....

Hullo Housies at home and abroad!

Greetings from Vienna!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! It is amazing, with the most chillaxed atmosphere of a city that I have ever experienced, and a LOT A LOTTA AL LOT of CAKE & CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUge amounts of it, huge, I have taken photos of the cake, and the cream, separately and together, there is a cake & coffee house on every street, every ten steps really!! Its amazing, and did I mention the CAKE!!! I may not have mentioned the CREAM yet!!!

And while I am missing my housies and of course Little C is in the house which makes it harder stil to be away...THE CREAM MAKES UP FOR IT a litt (...I tried to write little there but really with all honours to the CREAM I have to be truthful...) A LOT!!!

Its a beautiful city, one of the nicest places I've been to I have to say, I like it better than Paris...its gorgeous, I have presents too!! And its only just beginning really. Feeling guilty about the demands for Mozart Balls and Sachretorte as it is really expensive, dont worry that is not a cop out on bringing them home to the Railway Cottage!! BUt I will have to bring nice things to compensate for demanding expensive chocolate.
I think though, without these exports, everyone in Vienna would be a FATTy Fatty Fatty, as what other option is there, you cant NOT stop every ten paces to eat a cream cake and drink a Kaffe!!That would be ludicrous behaviour. I havent eaten from a bucket yet, but we head to the Melk place tomorrow so I am slightly concerned that when the locals head for the church and lock themselves inside I will have no other option!

Oh well!!
Today we got on bikes and cycled all over this amazing city, the locals HERE love me, I've invented a new phrase: Danke Danke! Some one tried to charge me six euros for a punnit of strawberries so I said NO! And only one Danke to him!

Eh...not sure if this has been covered for today but Magdalana's Magic Moment:

Dont let your Monkey brain obscure the Truth...its out there...
....And today is the 13th, did it happen? I think it is HAPPENING; IT'S MAGIC TIME.
and...THE 14th IS AN EXTREMELY SPECIAL SPECIAL DAY, THANK GOD FOR IT (the day), AND WHAT IT (the day) BROUGHT US x

FRED....thats FRED the Parrot's Gossip:
Daniel will be visited on Friday by a Little Irish Railway Fairy, who has SPAM for him!!
AND...ISNT IT SOMEONE WONDERFUL'S BIRTHDAY TOMORROW???

Song of the Day:
OH VIENNA...
THIS MEANS NOTHING TO ME:::
OH::::::
OH:::::
VIENNA!
(It was sung very dramatically in the 80's!)

Signing off from the (r)oad trip in mainland Europe, over and out, love you all....

Christian is in da Hooooooooooouse

hello all of you, from the only fairy left in the house (we're taking in it turns)
One fairy is in Austria getting down with the Mozart balls and trying to convince people not to hide in the church, that she's actually a nice person, all this in german, which is making a huge effort because we all know, as a friend of ours (future friend) said, german sounds like a type writer eating staples falling down the stairs....
Fairy K is still in emerald land, when the craic is always on, in, at, grovy, down....? its still hard for me to be cool in Irish... AAAAAGAGAAAAZZZ! hopefully back tomorrow...
as for the visitor of the week... little C is in da house, and we love that! He is very Christian, oh so absolutely Christian that it's like a day at the beach! plus he brought port wine (that I can't drink snif snif antibiotics) and cheese (aaahhh he knows how to talk to the railway housies...)
Oh yess big news today I tried on Elton John's huge platform shoes (signed shoes) that are worth a lot of money.... don't tell anyone the men in black (The Human Rights) would kill me!

emmm not a specialist about the part thats left but i'll try my best

Magdalena's piece of wisdom (??!!??)
good wind to fairy Liz who in her bag in placing the stones for a great adventure... (metaphorical stones... hahahahahaha) (departure day on saturday remember!)

Barry (?) no that's not it...
oh well the parrot (sorry V) little bit of gossip
Elton John has tiny little feet!

Song of the day
.....Hold me closer, tiny daaaancer (with tiny feeeeeeeet)
......Count the headlights on the highway.... (can't look at your feet, their too small).......

Home Alone....boo hoo...

Hello there Housies on the varous roads of England, Ireland, America and those flying into London at this very moment!! Its very weird being home alone in the railway Fiary land but its ok because I too will be hitting the road in the bright morning air of silly o'clock to fly to Austria, and check out Crispy's theory of the local villagers running and hiding and locking themselves in the church on sight of me!!!??? I will update you from my new location in the days to come.

So there is no real news.....EXCEPT........Little C is arriving any minute now!!!! Oh Yes!! The Emporer & The Empress reunited at last, but I have to tell him in gentle fashion that his title is lost!!! Oh well, it cant be fun and games all the time!!!

Fairy J is traveling to the Granny Fairy and her tooth is still sore, but she has an appointment, with a dentist, fingeers crossed at 14:30 hours for a safe and solid resolution of the matter, that and the thumb soup incident have been disastrous this week, the man had to come twice!!! Fatty fatty fatty!!

Fairy K and the Grahamo left yesterday for the fair old Emerald Isle, we miss them, or I do as I am the only one here!!!

I am waiting on three men to call, one man is coming to install real internet, sorry Woody! And the othr two for various reasons....hmm...one is obvious!

Magdalena's Magic Moment:
There is always a third option...and wherever there are clouds, there will be rain eventually!

Fred The Parrot's Gossip:
Little C arrives in a minute!! Fairy T & the funny guy are waltzing the waltz!!
The Housies Dance is expanding at a fierce rate and is EXCELLENT!

Song of the Day:

Take a parachute, and JUMP
You cant stay here forever
When everyone else is gone
You all alone wont seem that clever!

Take a parachute and Go!
Theres gonna have to be some danger
Take a parachute and JUMP!
Youre gonna have to take flight!

If the wind dont catch you I will, I will
If the winds not there, I'm here.

Dont look out before you,
You know its a long way down,
I'll make it safer for you
Your parachute wont let you down

Take your parachute and GO!
Maybe come back tomorrow
Take your parachute
I am, stop you ever getting sorrow.

Take your Parachute, and JUMP!

Lazy Sunday in the railway... best house ever

Lazy lazy lazy
the lazy sunday followed the lazy saturday which followed the fantastic celebration of fairy K's bday...
the Fairies now have lights (fairy lights of course) in the garden and many candles...
Mrs Doubtfire was with us yesterday, followed by Shrek 2 that fairy V really enjoyed! well she ensnored it (code for she slept through it) yes she is still sick and has passed on to lemsip MAX for maximum efficientcy (who would be interested in this shit, she says, making a good point! it makes us laugh and if it doesn't make you laugh, you can the vegetarian option....)
Fairy J tried to make soup which resulted in loosing the use of the left thumb... and no soup was made, instead the man came with the pizza, again. yess well don't thumb soup!
At least we havent eaten anything out of a bucket yet! lazy monday maybe.....
Now there is disappointing news... the king of questions has lost his banana title!
yes i 'm afraid its true
due to shocking statement regarding clicky... and total dismissive attitude towards the question ordeal, there is now a vacancy... but we are not optimistic of filling it... oh well

Magdalena magic thoughts for the day...
remember to look behind you

Fred the parrot's gossip...
Christian returns to London soon

Song of the day...

Chitty bang bang chitty chitty bang bang

Oh you pretty chitty bang bang
pretty chitty bang bang we love you!
(bulgarians are very funny and don't like children... they claim every thing.... also isn't Caraticus the best name in the world...)

Post Visit Day 1...

Okay, so this is the first official blog and the video is sideways as it was the test run of Skypee so yis will have to turn yer heads to see it properly!!

We are at home by 2, 1 Fairy is missing as she is gone to collect The King of Questions from the train for his kingly visit to the Cottage. The lads have all left now...boo hoo...sadness...weeping...wailing! Two flying over the Atlantic by now probably quite drunk...and Liz gone into London town before going home before going to Nepal...she's amazing!

We had a lot of fun on the visit...it was great to catch up and have the chats, though it was too short really, although not quite a 'stopover'!!

Now we have the BIRTHDAY of Fairy K tomorrow and the house warming extravnganza and we have many suprises in store for Little Fairy K!! Dr. Fairy K as she is fondly known!

Fairy V is sick and cant go out, she's tucked up on the sofa with a blanket and Fairy J minding her nicely! It's important to mind the housies, the Railway Cottage is just that kind of magical lovely place really!

We just thought we heard a little mouse...Song of the day...NOT by Alan Dylan!

"I saw a mouse!

Where?

There on the stairs...

Where on the stairs?

Right there!

A little mouse with clogs on...
